"Rob Parsons shows so clearly how easy it is to spend money unnecessarily, simply through not being organised enough."

YOUR MONEY SECRETS

Reading The Money Secret is only a beginning: putting the secret into practice is what counts! Here are just some of the practical ideas other readers have implemented as a result of reading the book:

I've joined by local credit union and now have a paypoint card to make cash deposits, so when I've done the weekly shop, any spare change from the food budget for the weekly shop can go straight into the credit union account before I've left the supermarket.

We have just learned to slow down. These days people want all the nice household things and want them now!!!. So get end up in debt. We have started to slow down and think do we need that particular item? do we need it now? or can it wait to be purchased next month? Also as a mum of three i over used my tumble dryer! so i made a decision to go back to the washing line outside, i know its a bit more effort but saves on the expensive electric!!

Try your local corner shops. I spent well over £3 on a tube of toothpaste from a well-known high-street pharmacy. My local shop was selling it at £1.99!!

Constantly check prices of those things you buy regularly, eg petrol, to make sure you are getting the best price. I advise my children to write down what they spend so they can account for every penny. Eventually you will get into the habit. Only take your debit card with you when you are going out to buy something ie the weekly shop, petrol, etc, you only need to carry a small amount of cash in your purse for emergencies
